Nightmare on silent wings,
extinguished a candle.
Brushing back strands of her hair,
it gazed at the sleeping face –
so peaceful.
Not for long, my dear.
It promised fear and terror.
With tendrils of vapor, it entered
through pores in her skin –
sly and seeping.
She stirred in her dormancy
as darkness enfolded all around.
Monsters and demons danced
within the microcosm of her mind.
Laughing out loud, she surprised
the dark creatures festering inside.
Hearing that joyful sound,
They covered their ears and cried.
Oozing from her skin,
nightmare relinquished its grip.
It should have known better
than to enter the brain of a witch.
Holy moly Rose.
Who are all these Monsters?
And where did they come from? 😍

Hi Alan — nothing holy here, I’m afraid; just mad, mad fun and yes, lots of monsters! As Bloodizabeth has mentioned, more surprises in store, too. Your monsters are welcome, as well. ❤
Thanks so much, for visiting. The site is still in construction with Fly at the helm. More Sanguine wine, darling? 🍷 or two? 🍷🍷

Greetings! Poet Rummager pointed me to your Asylum story. It gave me such a warm, fuzzy feeling. You write dark quite well, Lonely.
I doubt you’ll be lonely much longer when other ghouls get a load of your work. I shall be happy to whisper your name into many attached and sliced off ears. Welcome, new friend! I shall be a follower, as well.

Thanks for coming by to read it. Laughing. I will be following you as well. You know dark isn;t my thing, but it has come naturally to me lately. Thanks

I beg to differ. Dark is definitely your thing, Lonely. Don’t be so modest. Thank you!

Music to my ears, BRH! I can listen to that forever and ever and would never tire of your screams. I must say, one of the best ones I’ve heard in a millennium. I detect a British accent towards the latter part of your screech, am I correct?

Methinks you have inside information dear slashermonster! My guttural accent comes more from the Columbian necktie I’m wearing. Do you like it?

Haha! I like anything wrapped around someone’s neck — the tighter, the better to hear the guttural accent. Impressive!

Whoa B! Columbian neckties would give you a guttural accent, all right! A tongue for a tie wouldn’t be my first choice for you. 😉 Glad you dropped by. A party’s not a scream without you! ❤

Hey Rose
I’m always up for darkness
Those darkers of hell
Shadows that speak in tongues
And no one knows it’s evil
Better than the darkers w/in

It’s been a year hasn’t it? At least since last Halloween. But yes, harder please.

I haven’t been on WP for a year, yet — in June, I believe. It’s been at least 8 months we’ve traded barbs, I think. Hahaha!!! Ah, you’re catching on!
