Death Is Watching

Death Is Watching
Original Poem and Artwork by: Anna (Life As A Bipolar Artist)

Deliver me from evil

Save me from the sin

Rip my chest wide open

Feel the heart within

Beating in a way

That demons will detect

They will find my pulse

They will resurrect

Tear apart my rib cage

Throw it to the side

Take my dying muscle

Find a place to hide

You may not escape

But if you are clever

There’s a tiny chance

Never means forever

Walk this deadly road

Knowing that if you glance

Away from the path

Then you don’t stand a chance.

  1. Thanks for adding my work to your blog and giving me that nice shout-out! I feel honored to be one of the machete-wielding lunatics (though I often use a paintbrush more than a machete these days, oh well). We have to embrace our darkness and see it as a creative force sometimes, that’s what I love about this blog, it embraces the darkness and the strange.
And as Edgar Allan Poe said, “There is no exquisite beauty… without some strangeness in the proportion.” 🙂

  2. The path of blood is quite intriguing! And so is the Moon…trees…reaper…scythe…everything is intriguing! Haha — the poem also breathes life into the expression. Nice job!
