an oasis of sorts
a refuge in the distance
beings who stalk to be kept at bay
for the moment
whether they slither or prowl
*The poem was written using the gogyohka form…a new form of poetry which has been developed in Japan by a poet called Enta Kusakabe.

I never heard of this form of poetry…then again…I don’t know too much about poetry! Perhaps I’ll give this form a shot someday. Where can I get one of those fancy Moon nightlights? There are beings I need to keep at bay.

Write it! Moon nightlights are hard to come by… I don’t know… but if you recite a poem and post the audio, I bet you’ll have a beauteous moon nightlight. 🌜💡

I’ll record something someday, but I’m not sure if it will be poetry. I may record a piece of dialogue that’s part of a story or something. We’ll see.
I need a full Moon nightlight! There are plenty of creepy crawlies around here, and they need to be pushed back into the darkness.

I agree with Sinister; it is a very interesting form and I’m looking forward to learning more about it. Both the poem and the illustration had a magical feeling about them. Beautiful.

I’ve never heard of this poem style, but then again, I know next to nothing about poetry. I just know what I like, and I like this poem. And Rose’s illustration is way cool.
