Six-Word Story Event: Jodi’s Monsters

Poke your needle in the eye with a thread—it’s time to sew a six-word story!

  1. Write a six-word story about a doll
  2. Post your story in the comment section
  3. Participants will be assigned a number

Jodi, owner of FranconiaRidgeStudio, has sponsored this six-word story event. Participants who were assigned a number will be automatically eligible to win their very own Fleece Monster Toy! Unlike most creatures—you don’t have to worry about feeding Jodi’s fleece monsters, and they won’t try to bite you during the night (I think).

** The winner will be able to choose the color of their fleece monster **

Anyone who participates in the event will be granted a number. The number is dictated by the numerical position of your comment. All eligible participants will be entered into a random number generator.

In order to be eligible to win Jodi’s fleece monster, you MUST participate in the event. All comments are welcome, but only event-related comments will be granted a number.

The randomly chosen winner will be awarded Jodi’s fleece monster!

The winner is required to send their email address to: slashermonstersubmissions@gmail.com

If the winner does not respond within 24 hours, another person will be randomly selected. So, don’t miss out and remember to respond right away!

All events start on Friday and end on the following Monday.

Winners will be notified in the comment section

  1. All eligible participates will be granted a number.
  2. Event winners are chosen randomly.
  3. Winners are required to send their email address to SMM Magazine. Jodie will contact them directly about shipping the fleece monster.

My doll won’t let me sleep

A Word From Jodi

I’m a busy mom of 2. I work full time second shift at a local hospital as a Medical Technologist. I do all my sewing and crafting in the wee hours of the morning, while the kiddos are sleeping.

Besides sewing, I enjoy cooking, reading, long walks on the beach…oh wait, this isn’t a dating app. And I’m married, ha! Let’s try this again.

I opened my Etsy shop, FranconiaRidgeStudio, in 2013. I’d been making toys for my own kids for years. So, expanding to online was just a natural progression. It’s pretty cool to think of kids all over the world now enjoying my creations.

  1. Thanks so much for being our first sponsor on SMM, Jodi — your store is amazing. We had a blast working with you!! ❤

Superb work on the layout and graphics, Fly! xo I hope your doll stops pestering you. 😀

    1. I’m glad everything worked out! Thanks for organizing the event. We should do this more often. Yeah…the doll can only pester me when it’s full of air (just kidding…or am I? \”/)

      1. The above comment implies that I have submitted multiple times to this raffle. If that is the correct assessment of your comment I would contend that I have only made a single submission. Perhaps someone shares a similar name with my own and that has caused this confusion, or perhaps I misinterpreted your comment. I do see another Sheldon in this feed. No real worries, I enjoyed thinking the thing up.

        1. Oh, I’m terribly sorry! Monsters were blocking most of my view — they run rampant here at SMM! Yes, definitely, you will receive a number. Thank you for participating — it’s a fantastic micro-fiction!

    1. Silent screams are often times scarier, because the eyes bulge out and can explode from the intense pressure. This is called the “eye scream effect.” Thanks for sharing and try not to get any eye goop on your shoes 😀

      1. They are, aren´t they? Did you see/read “Coraline” by Neil Gaiman? Very clever use of those button eyes. And what about stitched lips? I think those look quite scary too… 😉
Wish you a lovely Sunday, Rose! 🙂 ❤ xxx

We appreciate your awesome tale and will wish you luck in attaining your very own Franconia Ridge Studio monster. If you do win it, I’d keep all other pets away!

    1. Raggedy Ann isn’t such a goody two shoes, after all! Raggedy Andy always warned me about her, but I just thought he was full of polyester stuffing. Well, thank goodness you posted your sharp story and made me see the light! Thanks, Karina, my talented monster friend. xo
