Pour in your frustrations.
Add a drop of your fears.
Frog legs and cricket wings,
Beetle brains and butterfly heads,
Take the wooden spoon,
churn, churn, churn—
The Cauldron of Hate.
Purple mist rises,
Boiling green sludge…
Rat fur and toad warts,
Spider eyes and raven beaks.
Grasp the wooden spoon,
Churn, churn, churn—
The Cauldron of Hate.
Breathe in the purple mist,
Learn to love the tremors.
learn to love the taste.
Slug skin and newt toes,
Porcupine nose and earwig pincers,
You’ll never let go of the wooden spoon,
Churn, churn, churn—
My Cauldron of Hate.

Is that Newt Gringrich’s toes? I nned to toss in my writer’s block too. (You did say frustrations.)

Writer’s block is difficult to dissolve and it’s high in sodium.

This stew poem sounds delicious! I didn’t know you could cook so well, Fly. Family recipe?

Soul food comes from the heart.
Don’t put a dung beetle brain inside of the hate cauldron…it will make the stew taste like shit!

Hmm. Thanks for the dung beetle tip. At the beetle butchers, they were having a sale on their brains, so I’ll just pass those up. Whew! Glad you told me, DD. 😘

Carrion beetle brains are usually on sale.

I advise using low fat porcupine noses…in case you’d like to make your own stew!

Thanks for the tip; I wasn’t sure whether that was going to work, but I see how it fits in.

How about a little snail slime to thicken the broth? 🙂

Snail slime is a difficult ingredient to find, but it’s tasty!
