And by that mystery of heaven’s pride,
the border where death and life coincide,
was breath given unto mismatched remnants,
held together with foreign ligaments.
A hand from a jar, eyes plucked from the ground,
in their proper places the most renowned.
I am forged of vivisection’s treasures,
every part wonderful in its measure.
But together what dreadful sum is formed,
a source of horror in whose mind was born
hubris to steal Olympian fire.
My genesis unveiled his desire.
Newborn, I greeted him with a smile,
yet fruit of his labor he reviled.
Dr. Frankenstein repented too late,
of the action he chose to undertake.
Unchristened, I went wandering this plane,
and nothing but cruelty it contained.
So, in villainy I earned my cursed name,
The Monster, they shout brandishing bright flame.

I edited your comment, Mich. Yes, monstrosity is a key ingredient here at SMM, but remember to let it soak overnight, in blood, before using it! 😉

Have you ever watched Mel Brook’s “Young Frankenstein?” It’s hilarious. That’s where “Abby Normal” comes from.

I’m somewhat familiar with Young Frankenstein. I’m more familiar with Blazing Saddles! Ha.

I saw Blazing Saddles, but I can’t remember it very well.

I prefer Space Balls.

I really didn’t think that movie was funny. It should’ve been called “Sucked Balls.”

I’ve read this poem at least five times, and I still find that it mesmerizes me. Hypnotic and enthralling work, Doc! Agonson is a newcomer to WordPress, and I highly encourage you to check out his blog.

This poem is so visually dramatic and beastly, with a ruthless structure, and I’m evilly inspired.

Well told tale in rhyme about Dr. F’s crime and the monster’s hard time. Boo hoo, boo!

So true, K! We here at SMM would never give you, our most treasured monster, a hard time. Well, Fly might 😀 Just kidding — kinda!

Sometimes a hard time is better than no time. Better to be noticed than ignored, eh? I am a monster, after all, and a not a ghost, which can be Invisible 👻
